Stone plinths

The base of the building in hand-made stone: ashlar, cobblestone or rock, with window surrounds and sills.

A plinth takes rain, snow, frost and knocks. We build it on reinforced mesh with frost-resistant mortar, model every stone by hand and colour it so the house stands on what looks like an old stone base.

A plinth in large ashlar blocks of different sizes, each stone textured and coloured by hand in grey, brown and ochre. Small basement windows got stepped stone surrounds like the loopholes of an old castle.

Plinths of busy city pharmacies clad in thin layered stone in slate grey with rust accents, together with the ramps, landings and entrance platforms — finishes that take daily foot traffic, de-icing salt and frost.
